Here are some tips for choosing a name: Family traditions are used a lot and it’s considered an honor by most to be named after someone in the family. Don't feel presured to do so if you don't like the name, you can always use it as a "middle" name. Consider what Nicknames, Initials and Acronyms would be derived from the name you are considering. The results can really be hard on small children especially during school years. Choosing names that are "trendy""hot" or "in" can easily drop out of fashion in later years. Having a unique and different name will make your child stand out, but it may also lead to embarrassing situations. Try choosing a name based on its meaning, meanings with positive qualities and think about how it will work with the surman. Does it go well? Your child will be addressed throughout life by a multitude of people and in a variety of situations. How will it sound when spoken by a teacher, boss, sales associate, or significant other?
